Singer Mano, in one of his recent interviews opened up about the remuneration he used to take in mid 90s. He said that even a veteran singer like S.P. Balasubramanyam had to receive payments like not more than Rs 3000 and that the producers used to ask for reduction within it.
He went on said that people think that the person dubbing for superstar Rajinikanth might be paid over one crore but the producers pay not more than five lakhs and they do not pay the whole amount at once. He added that he used to be in a group of singers with music director A.R. Rahman and enjoyed his company a lot. When asked about his current remuneration the veteran singer did not reveal any figures.
